Brown Sugar Carrots for Thanksgiving #HeartfeltFood #ad

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Loblaws and Zehrs. All opinions are 100% mine.

This time of year we all reflect on our life, our family and what we are most thankful for. As a mom of four my family tops the list of what I am thankful for. They are always there to encourage me and support me with a few hugs and giggles along the way. Some days it is a challenge being mom but I would never trade it for anything.

Growing up I always looked forward to Thanksgiving. It was the time of year our entire family would get together and just hang out. My mom or my grandma always cooked an amazing meal and we would have so much fun. Now I am the one who does all of the cooking and often hosts the rest of the family for dinner.

This Thanksgiving I am reminded about how important  family is. Loblaws has a great heartfelt video to help remind you. Have you seen the Thanksgiving Wedding Video yet?

My family loves Glazed Carrots with brown sugar with their turkey dinner. I can not wait to make it for them. I think the sweetness helps these picky eaters get over the fact they are eating vegetables.

Glazed Carrots with Brown Sugar

Ingredients

2 pounds carrots, peeled and cut

1/4 cup butter

1/4 cup packed brown sugar

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/8 teaspoon ground pepper

Parsley

Directions

  1. Place carrots into a large saucepan, pour in enough water to cover, and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer carrots until tender, 8 to 10 minutes. Drain and transfer to a bowl.
  2. Melt butter in the same saucepan; stir brown sugar, and salt, into butter until brown sugar and salt have dissolved. Transfer carrots into brown sugar sauce; cook and stir until carrots are glazed with sauce, about 5 more minutes. Garnish with parsley.
  3. This yummy recipe is always a hit! I bet you have a great recipe your family loves you to make for Thanksgiving. Why not share it for a chance to win great prizes.
