Four Days of Adventure in Disneyland, California

There is so much for families to do while they are visiting Disneyland in California and many families may find that they need more than four days to accomplish everything.  However, it is possible to see and do quite a bit within four days.

Families that stay at a hotel on site will find that they are able to accomplish much more than families that stay at any other hotel.  There is less travel involved and every guest will be allowed to enter either the Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure Park one hour earlier than everyone else.  This is the best way for families to experience select attractions that get busier as the day goes on.  Another way to ensure that the entire family gets on the most rides during their time at Disneyland is to purchase the Fast Pass and use it as often as possible.

Everyone might want to switch things up one day and sleep in, so that everyone can experience the park and the fireworks late at night.  Nighttime is also the perfect time to watch Fantasmic and World of Color.  If the family has already seen Fantasmic, then this is the best time to visit New Orleans Square and Frontierland.  This area always has less people in it when Fantasmic is showing.

There are certain things that everyone should do when they visit Disneyland.  The Disneyland Monorail is an absolute must, plus it makes it easy to get around the park.  No one is ever too old to ride Dumbo the Flying Elephant or go through It’s a Small World.  Everyone will be able to show their adventurous side while riding Space Mountain, Pirates of the Caribbean and Indiana Jones Adventure.

The stores on Main Street and Buena Vista Street stay open for another hour once the park closes, so it is better if the family can wait for food or to go souvenir shopping.  This will allow everyone to go on another ride or two before leaving the park for the night.

The Downtown Disney District is close to the parks and the affiliated hotels and it is quite easy for families to walk there at any time during their trip.  Downtown Disney has multiple restaurants and shops, as well as live outdoor entertainment, so the family can be busy for hours.

No adventure in Disneyland would be complete without the search for all of the hidden Mickeys.  There are over 100 Mickeys located throughout the park and people can find them on manhole covers and rides.  One of the best ones to see is the silhouette of Mickey on the Big Ben clock tower while on the Peter Pan’s Flight.

The best way to get the most out of four days in Disneyland is to plan the entire trip and be prepared for anything.  Once that is done, the entire family can go out and have a fabulous vacation with Mickey and all of his friends.

Four Days of Adventure in Disneyland, California

In previous years we have always went Florida way and visited Disney World. I am excited to take the kids here this winter.

Have you been? Any tips would be great!

Comments

  1. Jealous of your visit to Disney World! Looking forward to going myself someday.

I visited Disneyland with my school band a few years back – it was really neat because we were invited back behind the park and into a recording studio where we played Disney songs and they overlayed our music on the films. Amazing experience.

If I had one tip, it would be to find out the schedules for all the shows and events and plan for them. Some of my greatest memories include seeing the Fantasmic and World Of Color shows, and I regret missing the others. They’re definitely worth stopping by to watch.

  2. Darlene Demell says:

I would love to be able to take my grandchildren to Disney World. I know they would enjoy it and I would as well.
