Take Care of your Labs with Royal Canin Labrador Food

Our family has two large dogs. One is a lab cross and the other is a purebred black Labrador.  Earl is just over four years old and the biggest baby you will ever meet. He is the sweetest dog with the kindest heart. Technically he is our daughter’s dog, but he is very much the family dog. When we have children over, he is the first to greet them and rollover to have his belly rubbed.

If you have a dog you know all too well how they are very much like children. They look to you for love and to care for them. They are amazing companions and their loyalty has no boundaries.

Being the younger one he is always last to eat allowing the senior to eat first. Often Earl will eat so fast I swear he is swallowing his food whole. As you can imagine this does cause him to gag and sometimes throw up. When he is happy or excited and the older dog is resting, Earl will go into the kitchen where his bowl is and carry his food into the living room. He will then eat it in-front of the TV. It is not unusual for him to make multiple trips back and forth to eat this way. It is loud and quite funny to watch.

Over the years we have tried a variety of foods with him. Some he liked, some he did not like so much. Then we were sent Royal Canin Labrador Retriever Adult dog food from their Breed Health Nutrition line for purebred dogs.

Purebred adult dogs have a wide variety of nutritional needs depending on their breed, lifestyle, and health status. Royal Canin’s Breed Health Nutrition products provide customized nutrition for different breeds. Based on a dog breed’s specific needs, Royal Canin Breed products can provide nutritional support for different activity levels, skin and coat types, anatomy of the jaw, and breed predispositions such as a Labradors tendency to gain weight. All Royal Canin adult dog foods offer complete, precisely balanced nutrition for your dog.

These larger sized kibbles are designed to force a Labrador to chew each kibble and help them feel full. I have noticed Earl is actually standing over his bowl and eating his food now instead or carrying it through the house. I have also noticed he is chewing it, loudly. This Royal Canin Labrador food is designed for adult dogs over 15 months and will help maintain your Labs ideal weight. It assists in bone and joint health while also helping to maintain healthy skin and a coat.

Finding a food that your dog loves to eat and is good for them gives you a warm fuzzy feeling. We all want what is best for our pets and often worry about what their food may contain. The kibble design and formula of the Royal Canin Labrador Retriever Adult food is tailor-made nutrition for purebred Labrador Retirevers. Royal Canin also carries Purebred foods for Boxers, Yorkies, and German Shepherds, along with 14 other breeds.

Finding the right food for your beloved pet is not always easy. You can always ask your veterinarian if you are unsure what food your dog should be eating. My vet carries Royal Canin and is pleased to hear Earl is now enjoying the food targeted for his breed.
