Spring break means time off from school and work, plus warmer weather just about everywhere.  There really isn’t a bad place that families can go during the break, however there are quite a few places that are exceptionally wonderful that the entire family with love.

great places to take the family during spring break

Here are 5 great places to take the family during spring break:

  1. Clearwater Beach, Florida

Sun, sand, and warmer temperatures are all in Clearwater Beach and the entire family can escape the winter blues.  Clearwater is also home to the Clearwater Marine Aquarium and this is where the dolphins, Winter and Hope, live.  No family will want to miss an opportunity to meet the famous dolphin from the movie Dolphin Tale, plus there is so much more that families can see and experience while at the aquarium.

  1. Washington D.C.

History, art, flowers, and animals can all be found inside Washington D.C. and families can do many activities without spending a dime.  All of the Smithsonian Museums are free as is the National Zoo.  The National Cherry Blossom Festival is held every year around the time when spring breaks occur throughout the country, so most families will even have the opportunity to see the cherry blossoms in bloom around the reflective pool in front of the Lincoln Memorial.

  1. Hilton Head, South Carolina

Many families love Myrtle Beach, but the college kids usually take over that area during spring break.  A nice alternative is Hilton Head, with all of the beaches, golf courses, and bike paths.  Hilton Head is also just a short drive away from both Charleston and Savannah, so multiple day trips are possible to see more of the East Coast.

  1. Carlsbad, California

Five miles of sand fills Carlsbad State Beach and this is a wonderful place to spend part or all of a day while on spring break.  Families will love that they can have fun in the sun and sand for a day or two, but also visit LEGOLAND and the San Diego Zoo during their vacation.

  1. The Grand Canyon

The Grand Canyon offers warm weather, gorgeous views, and a way to learn about rock formations.  There are different ways to experience the Grand Canyon, however, during spring break, only the South Rim will be open to visitors.  No one will miss anything with the North Rim being closed, because the South Rim offers the historic Grand Canyon Village, the Hermit Rest, and the Desert View.

Spring break is a wonderful time for families to travel together and experience everything that the world has to offer.  There are so many places to explore and the above list is only a fraction of the best places to visit.
