WIN with State Farm® Canada and Telematics #BeABetterDriver

I am in the midst of teaching my third child to drive. He is 17 and goes for his road test next week. He has been wanting to go for a while, but life put some obstacles in the way and caused a delay. He is the third child I had as well as the third I taught. It is not always easy, but it is worth it. On top of me teaching him the basics, we have him enrolled in driving school. Having a professional show him the rules of the road without any bad habits I may have, it well worth the cost. As soon as he passes his road test, we will be making a trip to our insurance company. I am excited to have him driving and to celebrate this milestone with him. I have no doubt he will be a great driver and love his independence and freedom.

With that freedom comes responsibility. Being a responsible driver means obeying the rules of the road and being insured in case of an accident.

  1. I had not heard of telematics before… what a great service!

  2. Oh wow, what a great program! Encourage your kids (or yourself) to drive safely and reap a savings of up to 25% on your auto insurance premium at renewal. Definitely a win-win!

ok so I’m in SK and doesn’t the gov provide drivers training for free in your schools? Its been like that here since I got mine in um… the 1980’s … Yeah I went with the kids when they had their learners and had to do the extra driving on their time but no way was I qualified to do all the other stuff that the school class taught them. Sometimes when I hear what goes on in other provinces I’m somewhat baffled lol

I actually have never heard of that program before! and what an awesome program. I will have to check out the app

  5. I’m all for tech that helps us be better drivers! I’m dreading when my kids are old enough to drive. Mind you they’re only 7 and 4 so I guess I have some time to get used to it. I think I’d want professionals do the driving instruction too – just seems like the better way to go.

I taught my 3 oldest to drive (with a school driving programme) and taught my 5th to drive too but with driving school. Two others both only went to driving school as they no longer lived with me and the last one lives in Europe, has had a few lessons but hasn’t carried on so far.
