5 Must See Attractions to Visit in the Fall

Fall is the time of the year when the temperatures begin to get cooler and the leaves change colors in certain areas of North America.  While there is really no horrendous place to visit during the fall, some places are a lot better than all the rest. If you are looking to travel throughout the USA this time of year, here are a few spots to consider. You can even rent an RV and try to visit them all!

Here are the 5 must-see attractions to visit in the fall:

  1. Summit of Prospect Mountain

Prospect Mountain is one of the higher peaks in the Adirondack Mountains in upstate New York.  The summit is at 2,030 feet above sea level and the people that reach the top will see panoramic views that last for up to one hundred miles in any direction.  While some people will hike up to the summit, others will take the easier way up and drive to the top for the views.

  1. Festivals in Nashville, Tennessee

There are so many festivals in Nashville during the fall, that people could spend all their time at them and miss all the musical sights that are always there.  A few of the festivals include the Independent Music Festival, the Americana Festival, the Music City Food and Wine Festival, and the Southern Festival of Books.

  1. Belvedere Castle in Central Park

Central Park in the fall is absolutely breathtaking with the leaves changing into bright hues of orange, red, and yellow.  One of the best places to see these leaves is from the top of Belvedere Castle, which is towards the center of Central Park.  For more fall adventures, people are encouraged to venture over to High Line between 30th and 34th streets to try the cuisine that is served at the seasonal food kiosks.

  1. Katy Trail in Missouri

The Katy Trail is two hundred and twenty-five miles long and it basically runs alongside the Missouri River.  This is a wonderful trail to hike or bike ride along during the fall and there are numerous bed and breakfasts along the trail that are perfect for a night’s rest.

  1. Cape May in New Jersey

The beach in Cape May is spectacular during the summer, but many people will want to wait for the crowds to disappear and the monarch butterflies to arrive before they visit.  The butterflies stop here every autumn for a few weeks during their migration and they basically take over the sand.

Fall is a beautiful time of the year and it is a season that many people look forward to.  There are so many things that people can do that are unique to this season and many people will count down the days until they can enjoy them all once again.

Where are you headed on your next family vacation?
