5 Technological Innovations To Make Your Home Secure

In the last couple of years, the home safety market has grown to become a large competitive arena with many new technological tools for homeowners. While some of these products are created to help catch possible criminals, others are designed to make your home much safer. More are specifically created to stop mishaps from occurring and alerting emergency home services like RestorationElite and others.

This technology will provide you with peace of mind knowing your loved ones are protected. While there are many options available on the market, these are some of the most effective and popular products today.

Smart Doorbells

Smart doorbell technology is playing a critical role in averting theft of items left at the door by carriers. The technology is also helpful in monitoring visitors. The doorbells are fitted with a camera, which has a motion detector embedded in it.

The best thing about smart doorbells is that they allow you to access the camera using your smartphone. This also allows the unit to send notifications to your phone once a visitor gets close to the door. If you are at work and an unexpected visitor stops by your home or a package is delivered, you get to know right away.

The Remote Garage Door Opener

While this is not new tech, it has received great improvement by integrating with a smartphone app. For example, if you are away from home for an extended period and your neighbor needs to enter your home, you simply open the door from your phone. In case the garage door is opened, you receive an immediate notification.

The extra peace of mind you are getting from using this device is invaluable. In fact, 9% of burglars who gained entry into homes did so through the garage. A smart garage door opener can help stop anything like that from ever occurring in your home.

Remote Home Monitoring

This is probably the most popular home tech product on the market. A home monitoring security system allows you to view the outside and inside of your home, remotely. This means that you can still keep a close eye on your child or family pet even when you are thousands of miles away.

In case of a break-in, you are immediately notified of the movement through an app on your smartphone and connected to your home security system. The system includes cameras and sensors that are installed around your home and can even be used to monitor the aluminum trench box system used by contractors. The technology is also capable of sending out and receiving communication to and from your smartphone via Wi-Fi, cable and phone services.

Smart appliances leverage on great technology that is helpful to anyone, in particular the older persons in your family. Such appliances can detect when they’ve run for prolonged periods and automatically shut themselves off to prevent fires. In addition, smart HVAC systems will also detect possible breakdowns allowing you to get in touch with HVAC contractors before the problem becomes serious.

Remote LED Home Lighting Systems

These are great systems you can make use of when you are away from home, or you think it is a good idea to make it look like someone’s home even when you are working late at the office. This remote lighting system allows you to turn on the lights in different rooms in your home, even while you are away on vacation. Elderly family members can also use the system to turn the lights on and off from a seated position.
