5 Questions to Ask Before You Buy Gymwear in 2018

What you wear at the gym can have a big impact on your workout and consequently the results you are trying to achieve. Gym clothes are supposed to provide the necessary flexibility and comfort one needs to perform different kinds of workout. If you are really devoted to your workout regime, it only makes sense to invest into high quality fitness wear. But before you click the buy button here are the 5 questions you need to ask yourself:

1. What kind of workout will I be doing?

There are all kinds of exercises out there and you are perhaps interested in one more than others. Although most gym clothes like tees or shorts work well with all kinds of workout, there are special lines for special exercise like circuit training, Cross Fit, yoga etc. Similarly, some shoes are designed for speed running and may not be great for walking or jogging. Baggy trousers may not be suitable for cycling.
You should research about different kinds of exercises and choose the one you need to do. Then go shopping keeping that in mind. Nevertheless, there are few essentials that virtually everyone needs like t-shirts, track suits, gym towels, sports bra etc.

2. How many of them do I need?

This depends on the frequency of your gym visits. If you are a guy who works out three times a week, you do not need a whole wardrobe of gym clothes whereas if you are a guy who practically lives at the gym, you will need a lot of fitness wear. One of the major problems people face with gym clothes is that they have to wear them over and over again and they smell terrible and cause bacterial infections too.

It is generally a good idea to have at least two to three pieces of each item so that you can change every day and throw the used ones in laundry for next day. Apparel should especially be washed regularly to ensure there are no bacteria left in the clothes.

3. How can I buy them cheap?

Let’s get one thing clear, buying gym clothes can put a serious dent in your clothing budget especially if you are buying from a known name brand. That said it is obviously much better to invest into quality gym wear because these clothes take much more beating than your usual clothes so if they are anything less than quality do not expect them to last long. However, there are ways you can buy high end gym clothes at affordable prices.
The answer to this question is coupons and discounts. If you buy in sale season during holidays or at the end of summer you can save a lot of money. Promo codes are available year round and can be used to reduce price or get free shipping. Gymshark, which is an international high end fitness cult brand, publishes 2-3 coupons for their customer every month and you can find the latest Gymshark discount codes here at ClothingRIC.com. Their Flex and Seamless collections are lauded by fitness experts around the world. You can find some great gym clothing pieces with technologically advanced fabrics at reasonable prices thanks to the discounts.

4. Which materials to choose?

This is perhaps the most important information you need to know for any kind of gym clothing. If you are not comfortable while working out, your whole workout will be compromised. Depending on the type of exercise you are taking up, you need clothes that complement it. Always go for soft materials that are stretchable. If there is a little bit of Spandex in the construction of the garment it will be very flexible and will move with you. There are many brands using latest technologies to make fabrics that are breathable and fast moving. Also choose the fabrics with good wicking ability i.e. they should dry up fast.

5. What fit of shoes do I go for?

Your gym kitting is of course incomplete without a pair of comfortable and durable shoes. Finding the right size is not such a big deal but finding the right fit is. You have different markings for the fit of shoes:

2A fitting for narrow feet
B fitting for medium feet
D fitting for wide feet
2E fitting for extra-wide feet

It is recommended to buy a half size bigger than your actual size as they will be more comfortable and it is said that on long runs feet expand. As for fit, determine which category your feet fall in and purchase the right type.

When you are done answering these five questions you are ready to buy gymwear that is best for you. Remember that your fitness gear can improve your workout and as a result allow you to achieve the goals you have set your eyes on. And they will not even cost you a fortune if you take advantage of coupons and discounts.

  1. I love this. Material is everything. I once had a workout top that wasn’t made with natural fibers. I had to throw it out after about 3 weeks. It would NOT get clean.

  2. I definitely checked all these boxes when I went to get workout clothes. I needed something that was going to fit that would also move with me.

  3. I do HIIT (high intensity interval training) so I have to make sure that my work out gear is moisture wicking, easy to move in and fits and moves the way I need it to fit and move. We just picked up a great new pair of shoes when we were on holidays so I know I have at least 6 months in them before they need to be replaced. I have a couple of outfits that I just swap out but I know when it’s warmer I am going to be changing the leggings out for a great pair of shorts.
