Another year, another blank slate to write the next chapter of your life. There’s no time like the present to set the counter back to zero and reflect on your personal goals for the year. I am working hard this year to continue with my healthy goals and lose weight. This morning I walked my daughter to school and have committed to going to the gym a few times this week. Already this year I have used my treadmill more than I did last year and am excited to continue being active. While we all start the year with great intentions, the road to a new routine can be a steep climb. Here are a few tips that will help you stay dedicated to your resolutions in 2018.

  1. Arm yourself with the right tools

Many of us turn to running in the new year because there are no classes to sign up for or expensive equipment to buy. It may be easy to start, but this high-impact activity requires some preparation.   5. My tip is to never make a resolution. I gave up on those. Now I just move forward into the new year ready to make forward progress.

    I love the idea of keeping a journal, I’ve always found that this is what keeps me grounded and on track more than anything. There is something so concrete and tangible about having your progress written down.

  15. Great tips! I think the basics like, early to bed, lots of water are ones that I like to remember and arm myself with. As a shift working nurse I am very familiar with Aleve LOL. I get lots of work related aches and pains after a 12 hour shift and this is my go to.

  20. These are some great tips, I think we often rush into resolutions at full pace and forget we need to ease ourselves into a change often and build it up so we don’t burn out.

    Great reminders. I wish to have a fitbit sometime as I think it will be the encouragement I need. Keeping a food journal definitely helps me. I use a app for that 🙂
