You have probably all heard the saying “beauty sleep” before – but if you don’t get enough sleep it can impact more than how you look the next day.  Research shows that not getting enough sleep can have a direct affect on your overall health, and your diet.  Over a third of adults get 6 hours or less sleep regularly according to the National Sleep Foundation.  In terms of health issues, this can be worrying.  Here are 4 reasons why you need to make sure you get enough sleep.

There is no doubt that your mood is affected by the amount of sleep that you get. If you get enough sleep regularly, and you on occasion have a couple of days where you don’t get as much as you should – this isn’t something to worry about too much, but if it’s a regular occurrence this could cause issues. You could end up with some serious mood swings, and worse-case scenario depression.  As well as depression you could end up with high blood pressure and being much less productive.
