Stay at the Wingate by Wyndham Kamloops #ExploreKamloops

We have driven across the province many times over the years and quite a few times across Canada. Having a big family there are two things that are a must when booking a hotel. It does not matter if it is just for one night or for an entire week. Having a hotel with an indoor pool to keep the kids busy and a breakfast included is a must on my list.

When tourism Kamloops invited us to visit for a great weekend away int he summer I was happy to see the hotel hosting had these two things. When mama is tired after all the walking and driving during the day, somehow the kids still have energy to burn. So a pool is a great place to burn this energy. Plus if the weather is not cooperating because of rain, sun or smoke, you can head indoors to wait it out while the kids swim. The indoor heated pool with sauna in the same room and lots of towels and chairs, was a great spot for us to hang out and finish off our day.

Starting our day off with a breakfast is another great thing I like to see in a hotel. The Wingate by Wyndham in Kamloops is the newest hotel in the area. The area located near many restaurants and attractions but having that breakfast on site was great! Our room was spacious and the staff were super friendly. The smallest details were taken care of stress-free! I had a minor first aid issue and they had everything I needed to take care of it. They also gave us extra towels and pillows when requested.

The underground parking was nice to have so we did not need to run out to the car in the rain or worry about safety later at night. The room key entry to the parking garage and elevator was also a nice security feature for two moms traveling with young daughters.  Our room had two large queen size beds that were perfect for our girls family weekend away. It took us less than ten minutes to get downtown and to all of the attractions we visited while there.

Near the North and South Thompson Rivers and Kamloops Lake, our Wingate by Wyndham Kamloops hotel puts you in the heart of this beautiful city. We’re located right off the Trans-Canada Highway and just minutes from Thompson Rivers University, Tournament Capital Centre and the Aberdeen Mall. We’re also within driving distance of attractions like Cascades Casino and Sun Peaks, a premier ski destination. Taking care of business? You can set up a corporate gathering in one of our three polished meeting rooms, featuring everything you need for a productive session.

Our room was clean and had all the amenities we needed. The continental breakfast had lots of seating and a great variety of foods. No matter if you are driving through town needing somewhere to rest or head or planning a visit for a few days, this is a great spot to stay!

This non smoking, pet friendly hotel is one we will recommend to friends visiting the area for years to come! We truly enjoyed our stay and hope to be back one day soon.

Disclosure- Our visit to Kamloops was hosted along with this stay. My coverage is not influenced and all opinions are my own.

  1. Looks like a perfect hotel for a family. I like how it is so close to the downtown core, they have more to offer than I expected. The breakfast is a huge bonus, always nice to start the day with a hearty breakfast in the hotel.

  2. We have had some great stays at Wyndham in the past. I’d love to visit Kamloops one day soon and I’d happily stay here. I agree a pool is a must and also we need breakfast. It’s so much more economical when it’s included.
