Reduce Cold Sores with Lipivir

Winter is almost here and with it comes an increase in cold temperatures and viruses. One common virus is the cold sore. I , like many people have had a cold sore and was not happy! I can usually feel them before they show up and dread every minute of it. Having a cold sore is like having a big arrow pointing at my lip for all to see. I swear I can feel people looking at it while it is there. Plus they hurt and take so long to heal. I know I am one of the fortunate ones, some of my family gets them more frequently.

If you have had cold sores you know they are no fun and always seem to pop up at the worst possible times.

What triggers a cold sore?

The HSV-1 virus lies dormant in your nerve cells until a trigger weakens your immune system, allowing the virus to multiply and infect your healthy lip cells. The following are all common cold sore triggers:

  • Emotional or physical stress; fatigue
  • Sunlight, including tanning beds
  • Colds or other upper respiratory problems; fever
  • Cold weather and wind
  • Hormonal fluctuations such as those during menstruation or menopause, making women more likely to experience outbreaks than men
  • Trauma or injury to your lips including dryness and cracking, dental procedures, cosmetic
surgery, chemical peels, laser therapy, or waxing and threading

If only there was something we could do to prevent them from starting to begin with!

Recently I was introduced to Lipivir, a preventative lip gel that helps reduce the frequency of cold sores.  Lipivir is new to Canada and is available over the counter.

lipivir® Daily Protection

Reduces the Frequency of Cold Sores

  • Preventative measure against cold sores
  • Proven to reduce the frequency of outbreaks
  • Lasts up to 2 months of daily application
  • Tried, tested, and trusted by patients across Europe and Canada
  • Goes on clear and easily incorporates into your daily skincare routine

With Lipivir you do not need to wait for the cold sore to show up and ruin your day. You can prevent it from showing up to begin with. lipivir is a new cold sore innovation that aims to make cold sores a thing of the past. Rather than waiting to treat cold sores once they appear, use non-prescription daily routine lipivir to stop them from happening in the first place. lipivir comes in a discrete 2-gram tube that lasts up to two months. Just a small drop applied morning and night along with your daily beauty routine dramatically reduces the frequency of unsightly and painful cold sore blisters.

What else can you do to prevent cold sores?

Cold sores are triggered when your immune system is weakened. Living a healthy lifestyle can make you less susceptible to outbreaks. Eating well and exercising regularly strengthens your immune system and helps with stress – one the major triggers. Always wear a face sunscreen and lip balm with an SPF of 30 or higher as sunlight is the most common trigger.

Comments

  1. Cold sores are so common during the colder weather and so painful too. Will have to check into Lipivir the new time I shop at the drug store.

  2. That is good to have an option that works for those who need it!

  3. Luckily I am not plagued by coldsores but I do know a few people who are. I will be sharing your post with them in case they are not aware of lipivir.

  4. I love that it actually prevents rather than simply treating cold sores. What a great option for anyone who suffers from cold sores!

  5. This sounds like a much-needed product. I know a few people who get cold sores. I will definitely pass this info on to them.

  6. This sounds like a great relief for cold sores.

  7. I have to get some of this! It’s much better to prevent a cold sore than to have to live with all the uncomfortable grossness.

  8. I have never heard of this cold sore medicine. I am going to have to check this out. We have only ever used Abreva.

  9. I have my lipivir here and in my cosmetic case ready for the moment I feel that tingle on my lip. I like to travel with mine because I find that I often feel that tingle when I am on a sponsored trip working, which is nasty. Better to stop it immediately.

I haven’t had them in a long time. I hope I don’t get cold sores this year. Lipivir looks like it is going to be a good thing to have just in case.

  11. My husband use to get them but he hasn’t had any for about 5 years.

  12. Victoria Ess says

    Great alternative to abreva!

  13. Debbie White-Beattie says

My mother hasn’t had a breakout since using lipivir
