Why Senior Issues are Important to Me #ImreadytoCare

Disclosure- The following post is brought to you by Ready to Care. As always, all opinions are my own

Throughout my life, I have had the privilege of knowing several fabulous seniors. Not only have they continuously inspired me, but they have always had the best stories, advice and insight. This is only part of the reason why senior issues are important to me. In fact, there are several more.

Aging can be a very sensitive process. Not only do seniors need comfort and care to lead a happy healthy life, but they also require more in order to live without anxiety or worries. This is why it is important that we make seniors feel special and appreciated in our lives. In fact, there are many seniors out there that feel as though they have no one that cares, the loneliness grows. This is just unacceptable.

Senior issues are important to me because seniors should be able to live a happy, healthy and stress-free life. Senior issues are important to me because these relationships are valuable to myself and my children. Senior issues are important to me because they deserve to feel loved, wanted and valued.

This is why I choose to make the seniors in my life feel important. Whenever possible, even just doing something as small as sending a note, making a phone call or bringing a senior neighbour over a plate of cookies and having a chat over a nice warm team, is important to me. My grandmother taught me how to crochet and how to cook. I miss her dearly and wish we had had more time together. Sadly she is no longer with us but I do have many people in my life who love company and are happy to see myself and the kids visit.

This is exactly what Ready to Care in all about.

What is Ready to Care?
Ready to Care is an initiative designed to enhance and better the lives of aging adults, seniors and their families through change. Established in 2017 through Home Instead Senior Care, they have been inspiring and empowering others to chance the aging experience. Ready to Care wants us to participate in education, service and giving when it comes to the aging adults in our lives. This is because their philosophy revolves around everyone doing a little bit of care so that everyone can be cared for. If we all work together as a team, we can increase the world’s willingness and desire to care for our seniors and aging adults.

If you are ready to care, there are several ways that you can make a change. In fact, if you join Ready to Care, you can get some tips and inspiration on how you can help a senior in your community.
