Looking to travel to the mountains and do some skiing this winter? Here is a family friendly option sure to please all!

Whistler Blackcomb has officially opened a brand new Whistler Kid’s Centre in Creekside Village. The new Centre, for children ages three and four, is designed specifically with kids that age in mind; everything from a den for those who are homesick or not feeling well, to the size of the furniture, kid-sized comfort comes first.

Whistler Blackcomb has seen a significant rise in the number of participants in the Whistler Kids weekend programs. Whistler Kids already has a designated area for safe on-mountain learning in Creekside, as well as access to the Kadenwood Lift to learn lift safety and become more comfortable on the slopes. The Kadenwood Lift serves as an excellent stepping stone in ski development for children who want to leave the beginner area but are not quite ready for the alpine.

Burton Riglet Park at the Whistler Mountain Children’s Learning Centre

Whistler Blackcomb has partnered with Burton Snowboards to build a kids-only Riglet Park at the Children’s Learning Centre on Whistler Mountain. Riglet Parks are built around the idea of giving young kids a fun introduction to the foundations of snowboarding through play, terrain-based learning and guided discovery. Kids experience the feeling of sliding on snow through interactive stations with features that help them learn the basic snowboard fundamentals of balance, movement and control in a safe, easy and fun environment. It’s basically a snowboarding playground. The Burton Riglet Park is open daily.

Covered Magic Carpet Lift at the Children’s Learning Centre

This winter, Whistler Blackcomb installed its first ever covered Magic Carpet lift at the Children’s Learning Centre on Whistler Mountain. Replacing the handle tows that were in this location, the covered Magic Carpet creates a safe and comfortable learning environment for children only with an easy-to-access lift that offers protection from snow, rain, wind and cold.

Kid’s Night Out

This year visitors to Whistler will not have to worry about finding evening childcare over the busy holiday periods thanks to the introduction of Kid’s Night Out, the newest addition to Whistler Blackcomb’s line up of children’s programs. Kids Night Out are fun, non-ski based evening programs that take place from Blackcomb Kids at the base of Blackcomb Mountain in the Upper Village. They are available during holiday weeks including Chinese New Year, President’s Week and Easter, and will offer a convenient solution for parents looking for some grown-up time during their vacations.

 Happy travels!
