It is hard to believe it has been over a week since I woke to the beach and mountain view from my room at CasaMagna Marriott Puerto Vallarta Resort & Spa. Waking up every morning and smelling the ocean, hearing the birds outside and feeling relaxed is greatly missed. I had four amazing days filled with adventure, amazing food and great people while I was in Puerto Vallarta Mexico. I am excited to share with you my trip and the things I did while there. Today I wanted to show you the beautiful room I stayed in and tell you a bit about the CasaMagna Marriott Puerto Vallarta Resort & Spa.
My room
My room had everything I could need for my temporary home away from home. So much natural light with an amazing view of the pool, ocean and mountains off in the distance. The balcony had a small table with two chairs that was a perfect place to enjoy my morning coffee. The open air concept of the hotel made you feel like I was outside while walking to the elevator. When it rained at night the overflow ponds on the main level would fill up and there was mini water falls surrounded by tropical plants and wild life like lizards, turtles and birds. I truly felt like I was in paradise.
My large room was equipped with a king size bed, love seat, desk, TV with remote and dresser. There also was an in room safe, alarm clock, coffee maker blow-dryer and iron in the room. These extras I appreciated having in the room to make my stay more comfortable.
Nestled between the Sierra Madre Mountains and Banderas Bay, the CasaMagna Marriott Puerto Vallarta Resort & Spa proudly holds a spot as one of the Top 10 Resorts in Mexico’s Pacific Riviera according to Condé Nast Traveler. This 4 Diamond luxury Puerto Vallarta resort features newly decorated guestrooms with luxurious bedding, contemporary bathrooms, new decor with Mexican-inspired colors and patterns, four world-class restaurants, and exquisite updates to the banquet facilities and business meeting rooms. The CasaMagna Resort in Puerto Vallarta features the Ohtli Spa, the most spacious and luxurious full service resort spa in Puerto Vallarta. The kid’s club offers activities for kids ages 4-12. Golfers will enjoy easy access to the finest Puerto Vallarta golf courses. The resort’s sandy beach offers lounge chairs, umbrellas, sunshine and the perfect setting for a memorable destination wedding. From family-friendly fun to romantic getaways, the Marriott CasaMagna creates the ideal Puerto Vallarta vacation.
The large bathroom was beautiful.
Standing out on the balcony I had amazing views no matter where I looked. Looking over the ponds, plants, pool and out towards the beach was like nothing I had experienced before. It was peaceful and relaxing!
If you love the beach, the pool or the shade like me this location has it all. There is a basketball area for your sporty family members, a poolside bar, a kids club with pool and a fitness center (towels provided). There are four restaurants on site and a bar in the lobby. There is also a coffee house and a variety of shops for your many needs or souveneirs. The food on site was fabulous and the staff very friendly!
The Marriott Kids Club is offered to guests with children between the ages of 4 and 12. Lunch is provided and there are daily activities posted outside. This gives the grown ups some time to enjoy the spa or a date and other areas of the resort without the worry of watching over the children, especially near water.
Onsite they have a turtle nursery for their Sea Turtle Rescue Program. Here they keep the sea turtle eggs safe that are found on the stretch of beach out front. The visitors can be part of the release process when they hatch after 45 days. Lucky for us the season just started and I had the chance to go out and look for some of these eggs. We were under the supervision of the sites biologist, sadly we came up empty handed. However to illustrate the program’s success in 2010, 1,080 nests were collected with 53,150 sea turtles released back into the sea.
When I travel I have the attitude to do things I normally would not do, eat food I can not access every day and be somewhat adventurous. So while in Mexico I ate Mexican foods, and fresh sea food whenever possible. My first meal was Grilled Mahi Mahi at the Las Casitas restaurant. It was fresh and full of flavour! The perfect start to my foodie adventure 🙂
As you can imagine I have so much to share with you. I had an amazing few days and loved every minute of it. The area was so pretty and full of history and culture. My most fave though was the people. The kindest most welcoming people you would ever meet. Even the the sun was out and at times it was humid, I came out barely sun-burnt. I would love to go back some day, this time with my family.
Have you ever been to Puerto Vallarta? I would love to her your thoughts.
Happy travels!

I wish I was there! I would love to swim in the pool!
I have a rule when it comes to booking a hotel: they must have white bedding. It sounds silly, but white shows everything so I feel that if there is a smudge of dirt – it has to be cleaned.
Cleanliness goes a long way with me, and The Casa Magna looks just like the resort I would book with. Great views, great food and a clean and fun atmosphere.
